The Position


St John of God Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW providing acute community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. Our healthcare facility is operated by St John of God Health Care and provides public patient services under a public-private partnership with the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.


Our hospital is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join our records team on a casual basis to support our hospital services.


The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day clerical functions of the medical record service, which supports the provision of quality patient care. This will include maintaining and updating patient records, assisting clinical staff in matters of records, liaising with customers and patients and attend staff meetings when required.


We are offering this position on a casual basis, flexible hours and days available.


The successful candidate:


  • Ability to perform filing and retrieval tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with the public, patients and all levels of staff.
  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Working knowledge under the Privacy Act.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including word processing and data entry.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and collaborate within the team to achieve an efficient and effective clerical service.
