Job Description

Reporting to the VP, IT Solutions, the Director, Records Management will lead a team responsible for ensuring IO's records are managed effectively and efficiently, reducing legal and regulatory risk as well as improving the effectiveness of information management and overall efficiency. This successful candidate will provide leadership, coaching and career development support to records management staff, inspiring them to deliver on the team vision and strategy.


What You Will Do:


  • Build, plan and execute a records management strategy and roadmap to improve recordkeeping capabilities and maturity at Infrastructure Ontario, aligning with the goals of the organization.
  • Collaborating with the business and IT, lead the implementation of new, and improvements to existing, systems and processes for records management, providing capabilities that benefit the organization and ensuring effective governance of records.
  • Lead the development, design, implementation and governance of SharePoint as the primary electronic records management platform for all of IO, effectively identifying and organizing records and implementing records management in SharePoint.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with relevant associations and government contacts, keeping informed of industry and government best practices and trends that inform and evolve the roadmap and activities of the team.
  • Manage the execution of, and continually improve, records management services and governance at IO.
  • Lead the records management team in the development and implementation, of records management policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, that reflect industry standards and Applicable Law
  • Increase records management awareness and adoption by leading the planning, execution and rollout of programs and training to Infrastructure Ontario business units and staff on relevant policies, best practices, and use of IO record keeping systems
What We’re Looking For:


  • This posting will close on June 23, 2023 @ 11:59 pm
  • Records Management certification, e.g. completion of ARMA Records and information Management Core Competencies, is an asset
  • Strong experience introducing new technologies and managing considerable change across the team and organization
  • Managing electronic records in SharePoint and Microsoft Purview portal is an asset
  • Please note that interviews will occur on a rolling basis until the role is filled
  • University degree in information management, library sciences, information technology, business administration, commerce, or a relevant discipline highly preferred
  • Experience with document and/or content management software or equivalent experience in complex electronic filing system environments
  • The salary range for this position is $113,500 - $170,300
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented and possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports
  • Significant related work experience within records management, demonstrating knowledge of records management principles, practices, methods and techniques
