Receiving Inspector Jobs

Job Summary

The incumbent supports the manufacturing shop at ZOOK by ensuring that inbound shipments are received completely and correctly, utilizing established quality procedures and standards.

Job Type: Full Time.

Schedule: Monday to Friday. 6:45am - 3:15pm.

Responsibilities

The Receiving Inspector has the following duties:

• Approves in-process and final production conformance by confirming specifications, conducting visual and dimensional inspection and documenting non-conformances.
• Reports observed issues with measuring devices as they appear to the QA department.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with MOL and internal H&S policies.
• Acts as a backup to material handler unloading inbound goods.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into the ERP.
• Supporting warehouse management activities to ensure warehouse locations are clean and free from clutter.
• Conducting visual and dimensional verification; approving conforming and rejecting non- conforming materials utilizing the QMS.
• Recommending improvements to processes and procedures to eliminate waste and improve quality.
• Reviews incoming documentation of materials to ensure conformance with purchase order requirements.
• Any other Tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Participate in quality audits if called on.
• Approves incoming and in-process materials by confirming specifications based on drawings, data sheets and ERP information.

Requirements/Skills/Qualification::

• Experience using a forklift and professional forklift certification will be an advantage.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read blueprint/drawings and experience with product inspection in a machine shop / sheet metal environment.
• Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to importance.
• Interpersonal skills are essential, as cross functional work is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and relevant customer service experience is a plus.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel etc and experience with the companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software NAV
• Mechanical Aptitude, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills
• Personal accountability and integrity is essential.
• Attention to Detail and ability to work within a team.
• Strong math skill and proficiency in using basic measuring devices including micrometers, vernier calipers, tape measures, thread gauges.

Environment Factors

• Frequent movement including bending, twisting, reaching over, lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional climbing, dexterity, push/pull, vibration, and standing for long periods.
• Must wear all required PPE including steel-toed CSA-certified boots, safety glasses, earplugs, etc.
