Description
The Quality Control Lead is responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management Program on the project. This position will apply Quality Controls in accordance with project specifications to meet the client requirements. The Quality Control Lead supports the execution of complex tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining collaborative and supportive conditions for team members. This position will be based out of Coquitlam, BC.
Responsibilities

• Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a company and its staff including its subcontractors in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
• Create and ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) are in compliance with project requirements.
• Lead and coordinate all quality control team members, prepare work schedules, assign specific duties, and leading audits on subcontractor activities and implementing CARs and NCRs from audit findings in collaboration with Project Team.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
• Ensure work is performed to established technical requirements defined by project documentation including drawings, specifications, procedures, inspection and test plans, and scope of work.
• Uphold company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada's Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
• Work closely with project teams to develop and implement the quality system to ensure thorough understanding of the scope and schedule.

Requirements

• Welding, coating and quality control inspections required.
• Firm knowledge of construction codes and standards CSA, ISO, ASME, API, AWWA, and others in relation to the project.
• 5-8 years' experience in heavy construction projects.
• Degree or diploma in a related field i.e. architectural, structural, construction or engineering technology.
• Must possess a valid drivers license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team.

LANGUAGES

• Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
