QUALITY CONTROL- NIGHT SHIFT

We are looking to add a Quality Contol Technician to our growing team.
The QC Technician reports directly to the Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance and is responsible for enforcement of the Food Safety and Quality Programs by monitoring the production process, production staff, equipment, ingredients and warehousing to ensure compliance with certification requirements, HACCP, GMP and all other significant certifications. Required to act with independence, sense of urgency and an overall perspective of continuous improvement and excellence in GMP and Food Safety. Primarily based on night shift (change to morning or afternoon if needed, this role will be required rotate between morning and afternoon shift on a defined schedule
Responsibilities:
• Maintains and monitors all current Quality programs: GMP, HACCP, Prerequisite programs
• Monitors production output and make sure it is within standard.
• Able to make a decision to correct any production issues
• Conducts daily GMP inspection of the facility, production and non-production equipment and personnel practices, identifies non-conformances and confidently addresses for change and corrective action.
• Reports any Food safety, Quality issues to Manager, Food Safety to address any issues with Production, Maintenance, Warehousing or Purchasing management. Create reports of findings in a clear, concise manner
• Conducts GMP checks and correct non-conformances of production staff or any person entering the production area. All non-conformances are documented and reported for analysis, tracking and corrective actions
• Conducts training, meetings and/or retraining exercises for Food Safety and Quality non-conformances, new or updated procedures.
• Enforce GMP, HACCP, Food Security and Allergens among production staff
• Conducts daily verification Line checks of ingredient scaling, mixing, packing etc.
• Verifies Lot #s, product information of formula sheets
• monitors Finished product weight checks by sampling at beginning middle and end
• Assembles product samples for testing, monitors and reports on third party testing results.
• Conducts Premises checks on a monthly basis for internal premises inspection
• Shift times may vary according to the needs of the business.
Qualifications
• Good understanding of food manufacturing practices and process controls
• Excellent and demonstrable understanding of HACCP.
• Demonstrates a good approach to monitoring and enforcing Food Safety & Quality principles throughout the organization
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to train and coach production staff on Food Safety and Quality Control
• Food manufacturing of fried snacks experience is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule:
• 8 hour shift
• Night shift
• 5 days between Monday to Sunday
• On call
• Weekends as needed
