Electrical Quality Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Inspector to ensure that all electrical systems and components meet quality standards at our client’s location in Halifax. The ideal candidate must have experience in Inspection Test Plan (ITP) inspections, writing findings reports, rectification of defects identified, and be either a Journeyman Electrician or possess equivalent electrical training in Quality Controls and Inspection.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of electrical systems and components at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Identify non-conformances and deficiencies in the work performed and report them to the appropriate parties for correction.
• Monitor the work of electricians and other electricians to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed records of inspections performed and corrective actions taken.
• Review and interpret electrical design documents and schematics to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
• Develop and execute Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure that all electrical controls, equipment, and installations are tested and inspected in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Write and distribute findings and inspection reports to project management and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and report writing skills, able to communicate findings and conclusions clearly and professionally.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical quality control inspection preferred.
• Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training or be a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent electrical training in Quality Controls and Inspection.
• Ability to use a variety of electrical testing equipment.
• Experience with industrial electrical installations, including running of cable and installation of electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and their applications in electrical inspections.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of relevant industry electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Inspection experience within the Marine sector, waterways, break walls, Wharf and or Terminal/Ports
