Standards & Quality Control Officer

Location: 91 Judson Street, Etobicoke ON or 625 Victoria Street East, Whitby ON
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our Rail Business Strategy & Operations Control Office seeking a Standards & Quality Control Officer to oversee, coordinate and develop departmental quality standards/processes; governance documents, consistent quality control assurance in information management, document management administration, and maintenance of data security.
What will I be doing?

• Develops workflows and tracks documents through the approval process.
• Liaises with relevant staff to develop and implement standards and governance documents.
• Serves as the central point of contact for all information management services.
• Advises on quality and information systems best practices.
• Audits Rail Services document management internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance of standards and regulations.
• Review multiple standards and regulations.
• Develops and implements administration procedures and processes for the information management system.
• Plans, controls, and deploys metadata in the information management system.
• Develops and implements standardized documentation for use Rail Services and third-party contractors.
• Manages and tracks documents and drawings.
• Liaises with internal and external customers to ensure quality control and information reliability.
• Provides information management oversight to cross functional project teams.
• Implements quality control processes for information management in alignment with RIM and Enterprise Data Governance Policies
• Develops quality assurance & quality control methods.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

• Minimum four (4) years of related experience in rail fleet maintenance, including developing related standards and processes
• Completion of diploma in a related discipline of study or trade apprenticeship certification, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
• Experience with Records Information Management and Information Technology Systems would be considered as an asset.
