Here is an exciting opportunity in beautiful Kitimat, British Columbia as a nightshift Quality Control Inspector! This role is on a 14/7 rotation schedule, has a potential for longevity and provides amazing accommodations. In this exciting position, you will be fully supported as you continue to build your skills, support a schedule driven project where the emphasis will be on people, client interface, development and management.
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the successful candidate will support the site quality on projects, typically overseeing quality control activities for multiple disciplines, multiple areas and multiple shifts including larger or more complex scopes of work.
Job duties:
• Provide oversight/inspection of coatings activities including verification of surface profile, environmental conditions, material mixing, material application, dry film thickness (DFT) and curing
• Perform independent inspections and verifications, as required, to ensure subcontractor compliance to applicable requirements
• Ensure that welding and PWHT documentation is processed in accordance with the subcontractors procedures, Quality System program requirements, and applicable specifications and codes
• Monitor subcontractor activities, including weld joint fit up, production welding, PWHT and NDE operations to ensure conformance to applicable requirements
• Perform physical inspection of a variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to: welding, piping, civil, concrete, buildings, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing
Qualifications:
• The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of project experience
• NACE Certification
• Level 2 CWB Welding Inspector
• Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Welding inspection experience
