We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier quality management, contract manufacturer management, and quality management systems. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our industry-changing electric motor and gearing products by working closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to establish and maintain robust quality systems and processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Supplier Evaluation and Selection:

• Conduct assessments of potential suppliers' capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine the most suitable suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and delivery performance.

Supplier Development and Performance Management:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, providing guidance, technical support, and training to enhance their understanding of quality expectations.
• Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement and drive supplier development programs to improve supplier capabilities, quality performance, and process control.

Contract Manufacturing Management:

• Work with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain effective communication channels, ensuring timely and accurate exchange of information and feedback.
• Conduct periodic audits and assessments to verify adherence to quality systems and processes.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements.

Quality System Implementation and Improvement:

• Develop and implement quality standards, procedures, and guidelines for suppliers and CMs.
• Continuously monitor and analyze supplier and contract manufacturing performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement CAPAs to address suppliers’ and contract manufacturers’ quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Support:

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Quality, Product Development, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product development, engineering changes, and cost reduction initiatives.

WHO YOU ARE

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Experience with supplier quality engineering, supplier development, and contract manufacturing.
• Experience in assembly-oriented or discrete manufacturing environments.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%) to supplier and contract manufacturing locations.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
• Proven track record in supplier evaluation, selection, and development, with experience in driving supplier performance improvements.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes of electromechanical components or products, inspection techniques, and quality control methodologies.

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD

• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations related to electric motors is highly desirable.
• Quality-related certifications
• Internal QMS auditor certification.
• Senior or intermediate level experience as a SQE.
