Summary
We are currently hiring for a Quality Assurance, Food Service Coordinator to join our Western Canada Team. Reporting to the Food Service Execution and Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance, Food Service Coordinator provides food and merchandising support to designated stores by reviewing the details of various programs and products to ensure they meet our high standards of quality and safety. In this role you will also be responsible for creating detailed reports, summarizing the findings, reviewing and providing these reports to management staff. You will also manage quality control by performing preventative maintenance tasks and respond to calls as needed. This role will require overnight travel within Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Grande Prairie and potentially within Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
  • Completes detailed itemized reports summarizing the condition of all elements of the store, compiles an overall score for each store and communicates results to the management staff.
  • Reviews store health requirements to ensure they are being met; addresses all critical violations immediately.
  • Assists and follows up with training, as needed.
  • Performs monthly preventative maintenance tasks, assists stores with reminders and resets.
  • Evaluates stocking and inventory supply of key food safety areas.
  • Acts as a central contact person for stores for questions regarding food service categories (i.e. discretionary decision - making power to solve issues as they arise).
  • Assesses the cleanliness of all areas of the store including food preparation areas, sinks, restrooms, security areas, storage areas, garbage and sanitation areas, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for auditing all assigned stores on a set schedule to provide food safe quality assurance monitoring functions.
  • Assists with addressing any issues found and helps handle necessary improvements to each store.
  • Notifies appropriate person if something is found out of compliance.
  • Reviews signage and promotional material.
  • Aids with new store start-ups and remodels.
  • Works closely with store’s Management staff, Sales Associates and District Managers within Operations along with other internal departments as it relates to the food service category.
  • Reviews all food and beverage equipment, including warmers, roller grills, microwaves, sandwich cases, condiment stations, beverage machines, bakery cases, coolers, etc.
  • Calibrates various dispensing machines per schedule.
  • Monitors food safety temperature and time to Circle K standards.
Profile Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a food service environment
  • Above average problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • A current valid driver’s license with a clean abstract is required to operate company vehicle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Food Safety Manager certification is a strong plus
  • Strong work ethic
  • Loves to travel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Food Safe Level 1 or equivalent
  • Strong PC skills including applied knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Strong mathematical skills
