Story Behind the Need
Business group: Regulatory Risk Governance
Project: SmartStream decommissioning Project
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and/or supporting the successful rollout of Global Finance Optimization (GFO) team initiatives and/or solutions. Supports the strategic direction, and management of assigned initiatives (process optimization, automation, legacy systems’ decommissioning, implementation of new systems/tools) to ensure that projects and reviews are delivered meeting financial reporting needs and as agreed with the key stakeholders. Responsibilities also include data analysis and manipulation and; managing change management activities such as participant/user training, project communications; and business readiness activities.
Typical Day in the Role:
The Senior Manager will succeed by obtaining, documenting, and demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Global Finance Processes. A critical success factor in this role will be the ability to establish strong partnerships with key stakeholders and stakeholder groups (e.g. Business and IT). The Senior Manager will play a key role in ensuring stakeholders feel comfortable incorporating new processes / procedures / solutions into their businesses’ operating activities, such as:
• Assess current Finance processes to identify internal control weakness and opportunities to improve process efficiencies
• Present recommendations/solutions to management including analysis of business processes, development of hypothesis, synthesized findings, and opportunities for improvement
• Lead all aspects of diagnostic, design and implementation stages by working within cross-functional teams and facilitating working sessions and support target business groups to implement and operationalize initiatives
• Participate in the design of ‘To-Be’ process flows and provide support on the rollout
• Accountability for alignment of business processes/requirements with different workstreams
• Managing the work assignments and deliverables of business analysts
• Support and oversight of testing strategy, test cases and results
• Manage and support change management activities including stakeholder communications and user training
• Practical project management knowledge (e.g. Agile) and experience working on projects that follow the software development life cycles (SDLC) would be an asset.
• Engage and/or participate in continuous interaction with Project Sponsors and Leads within Global Finance to ensure a clear understanding of their objectives and requirements.
• Ensure that solutions proposed, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 3+ years of experience in Financial Services industry and process management
2) Demonstrated experience in creating process flows and process mapping
3) Strong Proficiency with Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables)
4) Strong Proficiency with MS Suite (PPT, Word)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) A solid understanding of Global Finance’s operations and processes
2) Change management experience is an asset
3) Strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders

Soft Skills Required:
•Ability to work independently and cooperatively as member of a team

Education:
•Undergraduate degree in Business or equivalent
