Overview

At Colliers Project Leaders, we deliver capital project solutions to fulfill our clients’ needs across the built environment. The work we do makes a difference in communities and for the people who live there. We have a passion for it.

Our commitment to realizing our clients' vision inspires us to look beyond the immediate – to the possibilities of what we can achieve together. We are 15,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive and inclusive communities.

Your role

In this role, we are looking for a Project Manager to join our team in the Alberta Business Unit, as we continue to experience unprecedented growth. You will be joining our team of experts and will get the opportunity to demonstrate your experience on projects where you have managed design and construction projects associated with plant and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead plant and facilities projects in the private sector
  • Projects include expansion to the wastewater treatment process and a new water recycle facility
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues
  • Provide oversight and leadership of all elements of the project delivery
  • Chair project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders
  • Work on a variety of building projects of varying in size and scope
  • Lead project teams
  • Build trust with your Clients, so they rely on your knowledge, skills and expertise to achieve their business goals and objectives
  • Successful project delivery for water, wastewater, water conveyance, water treatment plants and reservoir projects
  • Regularly reporting on project status
  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of various types of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues
  • 15 years of experience as a Project Manager, representing owners to multiple stakeholders in the delivery of plant and facilities projects
  • PMP designation an asset
  • Experience in wastewater treatment projects is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • A bachelors degree or technical diploma in engineering, architecture, planning, project management, or construction management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)

Don’t have every single qualification? We know that some people are less likely to apply for a job unless they are a perfect match. At Colliers Project Leaders, we’re not looking for “perfect matches.” We’re looking to welcome people to our diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. So, if you’re excited about this role but don’t have every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. Whether it’s this role or another one, you may be just the right candidate.

What You Can Expect

  • An opportunity to truly impact our communities
  • And much more!
  • An environment where people feel welcome, heard and included, regardless of their differences
  • A comprehensive onboarding experience
  • Significant professional development, training, and a mentorship program
  • A flexible work environment
  • A paid volunteer day

Join our team of difference-makers and help shape the growth of dynamic communities.
