Project Manager - Healthcare Buildings

About the Role

We are immediately hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of woodframe healthcare buildings in the Vancouver area.

Role Description

You will have the opportunity to oversee management oversight of all phases of the construction project, including employees, subcontractors, materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Review quotations and provide bid analysis and recommendations for approval
• Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems
• Oversee day-to-day planning and management of a woodframe, healthcare building project
• Manage the permit and approval phase of the development process
• Provide timely and effective project reporting including monthly project status reports, cost forecasting, cash flows, schedule updates, safety and quality updates and issues
• Responsible for the overall project performance including schedule, budget, quality and safety
• Provide direction and support to project coordinators that include mentoring, coaching, supervising and assessing performances
• Ensure all required approvals have been received prior to the construction phase
• Maintain excellent relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, site staff and internal project team
• Develop and manage budget and timeline for Commercial Projects and Tenant Improvements
• Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities and provide updates to all stakeholders
• Oversee bidding process and contract negotiations while adhering to company policies
• Prepare and issue the project tender packages, including scope of work customized for the specific project

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to lead a diverse team of direct employees and subcontractors
• Knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques and equipment
• Desire to see project completion through from exaction to occupancy
• Experience as a project manager on healthcare building projects
• Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, ability to develop a project schedule.
• An understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess the level of completeness
