Intermediate Program Manager

We are a Vancouver-based startup seeking a talented Program Manager with extensive experience using agile methodology. You will be collaborating with in person and remote cross-functional teams, orchestrating various ongoing projects, and appropriately setting and managing stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as have some product management experience.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a project repository of historical and current project information.
• Administers and manages business relationships with the project’s external consultants and third parties ensuring they meet their project obligations.
• Owns the short-term roadmap by transforming high-level visions into detailed requirements.
• Works with the Head of Product and Head of Technology to create a cohesive plan that drives toward execution of the overall product vision.
• Maintains the product roadmap in Jira and liaises with Product and Development teams to ensure that sprints are broken down into detailed user stories with estimated workload matching sprint velocity.
• Regularly reports overall project status to management and key stakeholders, escalating major issues as necessary.
• Facilitates all Scrum ceremonies seeking to create a regular “Sprint Rhythm”, including sprint planning, daily stand up meetings, and retrospectives.
• Shields team from external interferences and removes obstacles.
• Proactively identifies and helps to resolve issues that impact achievement of team sprint commitments.
• Ensures the team is fully functional, cooperating, and productive.
• Suggests and implements improvements to project management, software development and other organizational processes.
• Creates actionable user stories for the Development Team.
• Identifies and drives implementation of continuous improvements within the project team.
• Facilitates team meetings and other day-to-day activities as required by the team.
• Leads the project team through all phases of the Software Development process.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:

• Gambling industry understanding and interest.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as highly effective communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. Experience: 2+ years working as a Scrum Master on software development projects.
• Strong planning skills – schedules, resource allocation, issue management, tracking, etc.
• Formal Scrum and/or Project Management training.
• Organized, detail oriented and thorough.
• Able to multitask.
• Strong desire to help improve processes and mentor others.
• Demonstrated history of successful project delivery in an agile environment.
• Strong motivation and initiative.
• Knowledge of various project planning and tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, Miro, Figma, etc.
