Job Description

Consequently, we are looking for a full-time CNC who would like to join our team. This position requires shift work on days and afternoons.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Resolving production related problems (quality, missing material, needed tools, etc.)
  • Coaching up the employees including praising and disciplining. Motivate Team Member to be the best they can be
  • Completing Quarterly Check-Ins and Annual Performance evaluations of hourly team members including setting individual goals
  • Record, Initiate the repair and report on INC's to Quality Manager and Plant Manager
  • Participating in all management, production, safety and quality meetings as required
  • Participating in all safety committee meetings as requested
  • Assist Plant Manager in the Review and correction of low gross margin concerns. Ensure that improvements are initiated and sustained
  • Contributing to team effort by performing related duties as instructed in a respectful manner
  • Initiating, planning, implementing and sustaining corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement ideas and communicating status to relative stakeholders
  • Work closely with Environmental Quality Manager and Plant Manager to develop corrective preventative actions and reduce quality costs
  • Employees use all protective devices and proper equipment as required,
  • Plan, organize, schedule and measure production related day to day activities in all departments to ensure our quality, cost and delivery requirements are met by, but not limited to, the following:
  • Lead and Support the Continuous improvement Support team
  • Reducing costs to include focus on NPL reduction, optimal use of tooling, shop supplies and machine utilization to increase machine up time
  • Ensure every reasonable precaution is taken under the circumstances so that the employees are protected
  • Daily communication with other stakeholders
  • Involvement in investigation process with quality issues
  • Initiate, plan and implement continuous improvement ideas and communicate status to staff and Leadership
  • Implementing company policies and goals as needed
  • Organizing / co-ordinating production activities
  • Employees are informed of the existence of potential or actual danger, which could affect the health & safety of employees in the workplace
  • Work with Leadership to implement Anchor's Policies and Goals
  • Communicate the needs for Maintenance of equipment
  • Initiating incident/near miss investigations as required and recommending correction action for substandard acts and/or conditions
  • Encourage Continuous improvement activities
  • Delivering safety information to workers in department meetings
  • Schedule and Conduct monthly Departmental meetings.
  • Daily update of Communication boards including "around the board meetings"
  • Entering Dayforce data accurately daily and reviewing statistics weekly
  • Work with HR and other Internal/External Training providers to plan and implement training as required.
  • Completing health & safety violation corrective action forms when necessary
  • Assigning specific work to an employee who is competent in performing such work,
  • Ensure that Preventative actions are planned, initiated and sustained
  • Working with Scheduler to ensure Customer delivery requests are on schedule to obtain on time delivery
  • Delegating work assignments to leaders
  • Organize shop employee shifts and overtime to ensure there is adequate coverage on the shift to complete the work
  • Daily email update of production plan for Leadership
  • Ensuring that all employees work in compliance with the requirement of OH&S as well as internal policies and regarding health & safety.
  • Assisting HR Administrator in performing worker orientation for all new employees
  • Ensuring employees are given written instructions as to the measures and procedures that may need to be taken for their protection including:
  • Promote teamwork by practicing excellent employee relations, continuous effective communication, participating and encourage celebrations and other success events.
  • Ensure availability of steel/material, tools, prints, shop orders, proper lifting equipment to all machines
Qualifications
  • College/University or equivalent
  • ISO 14001 Quality System
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strive for Growth within themselves and their team members
  • Expected to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Must be have a great deal of organization skills
  • Mechanically inclined, strong technical aptitude and creative/Innovative
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of steel manufacturing process as related to our environment

  • Two to Three years of Manufacturing background preferably in the Steel Industry
