Westmill is one of the leading manufacturers of veneer and board dryers in North America, we have customers across the continent and internationally. We provide turnkey solutions to plywood and gypsum plants for all their dryer needs, we are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse person to join our team.

The position includes the following duties...

Responsibilities

Capital Projects:

• Support logistics/warehouse staff in carrying out the following activities:
• Negotiating freight rates, coordinating shipments, preparing/arranging manifests, and preparing stock transfers.
• Other project coordination tasks, as necessary.
• Creating and maintaining Project BOMs, Production Orders, Stock Transfers, and entering new parts into the ERP system.
• Maintaining accurate project shipment information in the ERP system.
• Coordinating with customs brokerage to provide shipping paperwork and resolve import/export and transportation issues.
• Ensuring appropriate paperwork, tracking, and reporting processes and systems are in place and completed accurately and on time.
• Maintaining and promoting project logistics and shipping standards concerning packaging, tagging, and shipment notifications.
• Providing progress status on purchasing and logistics to Project Manager, and other stakeholders, as necessary.

Purchasing, Inventory:

• Following up with vendors and facilitating the smooth flow of information between Westmill and vendors.
• For smaller value procurements, preparing vendor RFQs, evaluating competitive bids, and making strategic vendor decisions.
• Issuing and receiving vendor Purchase Orders, verifying invoices, and supporting Accounts dept. for progress payments.
• Maintaining project documents.
• Managing day-to-day working relationships with distribution warehouses and logistics partners across Canada and internationally.
• Organize files and folders in project directories and SharePoint.
• Assist with warehouse staff with inventory audits and inventory counting programs.
• For larger value procurements, working with Project / Sales team to ensure the budget is adhered to.
• Liaising with the Engineering team for the timely issue of Purchase Orders according to delivery commitments.
• Assisting in the identification of new vendors/suppliers as necessary.
