As a Buyer, the major objective is to responds to requests, advise, and assist the site’s operational staff. The Buyer would need to manage a defined purchasing portfolio (services, products, equipment).

• Ensures the deployment of the Site’s purchasing actions plans, activity standards, tools, programs, and regulations in accordance with MERSEN’s ethical code and Corporate Social Responsibility. Tracks performance using operational and outcome indicators.
• Responsible for the Operational Procurement for one site or several sites.
• Contributes to projects led by the Key Category Managers (KCM), and to the proper execution of the associated action plans for the site.
• Organizes Requests for Proposal and negotiates on a legal and commercial standpoint. Proposes subcontracts to his/her direct manager.
• Proposes cost-saving plans and provides regular reports to analyze and encourage progress with respect to these objectives.
• Applies the appropriate purchasing methods to achieve the objectives of the site.
• Participates in the Supplier Evaluation Program.
• Follows up and expedites deliveries as and when required, in order to meet the customer needs.
• Evaluates the performance of the suppliers (quality, costs, delivery, innovation, treasury, and risk management).
• Negotiates contracts within the limits of its responsibilities for one Site, or for several Sites, in the form of a Lead Buyer.
• Follows MERSEN purchasing guidelines.

Required Skills

• Ability to use general IT such as ERP, Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. French knowledge would be an asset.
• Proven Analytical skills would be an asset.
• You have a Two-year college or technical school, and you have 5+ years of purchasing experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 USD per year
