Job Description

About the Position:

Working in the Procurement team and supporting the Operations team, you will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure effective delivery of contracted products and services. As well, you will evaluate supplier performance, including quality, cost, supply, capacities, systems and responsiveness as per on-going business management of the products, leases, licenses and/or services contracted by the suppliers in addition to ensuring portfolio related services are delivered in a timely manner, meet expectations, objectives and quality.


Responsibilities:

  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and assess them with other stakeholders to determine successful provider.
  • Manage professional working relationships with stakeholders, including vendors.
  • Measure and manage vendor compliance and performance.
  • Negotiate price with vendors and create policies for payment terms.
  • Collaborate with designers and product developers to assess each option for supply ability, quality and price.
  • Coordinate, consolidate, and track vendor shipments.
  • Locate manufacturers for goods with provided designs and design specifications.
  • Complete various standard purchasing responsibilities including preparing purchase requisitions, transportation and delivery documents, and related letters and memos.
  • Negotiate freight contracts with inbound freight logistics (domestic and offshore).
  • Participate in the development of specifications for products to build requests for pricing.
  • Resolve any quality issues with vendors and manufacturers; and such further and other tasks as may be required from time to time.
  • Anticipate demand and maintain inventory levels.


Key Competencies of our Ideal Candidate:

  • A certificate or diploma in Purchasing, Business Administration or related field
  • Experience in purchasing food or cookware products will be considered an asset
  • Strong experience with MS EXCEL
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Flexibility to meet constantly changing demands of the workplace
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and inventory management environment
  • Ability to influence, facilitate, negotiate and manage stakeholders with a variety of sometimes conflicting interests to achieve a cohesive and quality results that meet business goals
