Title : Production Engineering Supervisor (French/English Bilingual)

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for directing, maintaining and optimizing the production process of products, as well as ensuring the application of certification standards, while working with different departments.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Lead team of 2 employees with responsibility for production engineering tasks including:
- Provide technical expertise for all questions from Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams as well as external suppliers
- Work with designers and drafters to ensure all product development is production ready.
Manage Bill of Materials & challenges on production floor
- Review and correct existing active BOMs
- Implement quality improvement measures & best practices for manufacturing / production design / engineering problems.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as workload, resources and quality.
- Understanding of safety certification norms and agencies like ETL, UL or CSA for mechanical and electrical products
Custom Product Design & Product updates
- Create BOMs, Drawing & 3D Modeling in ERP system.
- Reviews and Approves designs and final drawings for production with Management team.
- Work within existing Design and Development process to improve/modify existing products and create custom products according to customer requests.
Experience (minimum Experience Required)
Requirements :
- Experience with LED & lighting with a strong understanding of the architectural products. (asset)
- Minimum 2 years experience of Supervisory Experience
- ERP software experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent field experience
- Manufacturing experience with Die-Casting, Metal Spinning, Extrusions, sheet-metal and plastic
- SolidWorks (Modeling, configurations, and drawings) or similar, Excel & MS Office, AutoCAD
- Understanding of international & local sourcing challenges for a similar product category
- Proficiency in both English and French - spoken and written
Knowledge And Abilities

- Understand the existing product lines, manufacturing methods, processes, techniques, and related equipment.
- Results oriented Team Builder & excellent communicator who leads by example.
- Strong understanding of market demands and a realistic approach to cost optimization throughout development process
- Savy time manager with the ability to organize schedules, manage multiple tasks / priorities.
- Creative problem solver able to develop appropriate solutions in an evolving context.
