The Production Coordinator position is an ideal opportunity to put your up-to-date retail experience into good use. You will be responsible for ensuring that Direct Import Orders are placed in a timely fashion, produced as per Quality Control standards, and tracked throughout the entire Import process for on-time delivery to shipping ports. Your strong communication skills will enable you to interact productively with all levels of the organization and to work as part of a team as well as independently.


Highlights


  • Build, prepare and analyze reports as required.
  • Set up items in computer system and maintain data accurately and consistently
  • Communicate social compliance and quality control standards to vendors;
  • Approve sample quality and retail attributes (price sticker, UPC label, shipping mark, manuals, coordinate packaging), and purchase order inspection and obtain approval from relevant parties;
  • Follow-up with vendor on vessel booking to ensure on-time delivery to shipping ports;
  • Work with Global Sourcing Manager to find and develop new products;
  • Obtain factory audits, certifications, quotes, pre-production samples and/or production samples from vendors;
  • Log and track orders as per import process;
  • Send Purchase Orders to overseas vendors and obtain confirmation;


Key Qualifications


  • French and/or Mandarin an asset.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work with reports and make suggestions/recommendations based on available data;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in retail (general merchandise experience an asset);
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration (or related program);
  • Strong computer skills – Intermediate Excel a must and AS/400 an asset;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints;
