Job Description
What You'll Do


The Team Lead Production Control is responsible for leading a group of Production / Business Analysts and Hourly Staff in support of the building product management activities as well as taking part in continuous improvement initiatives. The Team Lead will ensure all service quality standards are maintained, insuring performance and resource use is monitored on a daily basis. The successful incumbent will ensure all processes operate to achieve Supply Chain goals and will interact with other Supply Chain departments to resolve challenges and/or develop processes to increase Supply Chain efficiencies.


  • Drive benefits and changes driven by the Production Planning process and CTC's Supply Chain Major Project Initiatives within the environment
  • Ensure that knowledge of other initiatives is leveraged by the Team
  • Work with Operations Planning and other Supply Chain partners in SKU movement initiatives
  • Assist in the development of IT tools to support Team initiatives
  • Provide the Team with directional support and guidance to facilitate their achievement of service level and cost targets
  • Participate as SME in process improvement projects and initiatives
  • Coach/mentor and direct Team members on a daily basis
  • Manage work activities, recruit and develop a Team whose customer base is primarily the Distribution and Transportation Operations
  • Provide direction with product maintenance activities including; Macro Slotting, Daily Anomaly Resolution, Proactive Slotting, Packaging, and Cancellation analysis
  • Participate in initiatives that contribute to the development of new Product placement strategies and coordinate and support their rollout
  • Drive initiatives with other business units including; Supply Chain Analysts, Operations Planning Centre, Supply Chain Improvement, IT, DC staff and management teams
  • Identify, document and implement business opportunities that contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and decision making within the team and the A.J. Billes Distribution Centre
  • Complete performance assessments on an annual basis with Manager


What You Bring


  • Strong competency with DCCS scheduling and planning principles an asset
  • 2 to 5 years Logistics or related experience
  • Extensive and proven PC knowledge coupled with ability to adapt to rapidly changing applications and systems
  • Experience with process improvement projects
  • Post Secondary school education in Business or Engineering is an asset
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain activities as they relate to Distribution
  • Global understanding of Supply Chain seasonal capacity constraints
  • Experience in a Distribution / Retail warehouse environment an asset
