A Day in the Life

We purify plasma proteins using expanded bed adsorption chromatography along with other more traditional downstream purification techniques. We’re looking for a Supervisor who can oversee the development of these operations, that would require you to oversee the design of experiments, ensure lab work is executed accurately and precisely, troubleshoot and problem solve issues that arise, and be able to communicate the meaning of results to others within the company. You would be the go-to person for lab-based Product Development members for both technical and personnel matters. This could include brainstorming the best option for an experiment, ensuring we have the proper equipment for execution of a pilot scale purification, or providing an agenda for routine meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Coordinate process development activities
• Prepare data summaries and draft technical documents
• Actively participate in departmental improvement programs
• Perform data analysis and calculations independently; analyze, interpret and evaluate complex problems based on a variety of factors and provide input for next steps in experimental designs
• Other duties as assigned
• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports
• Make recommendations such as equipment qualification, maintenance and calibration programs
• Support Quality Management System initiatives
• Troubleshoot issues
• Provide expertise and technical oversight

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering or relevant field
• Experience in equipment qualification and process validation
• Knowledge of GMP
• Written communication – Structured, logical writing in a succinct format understandable by peers, open to peer-mediated document reviews and revisions
• Pharmaceutical industry experience
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements with respect to validation and qualification activities in pharmaceutical industry
• Process design, flow mapping, writing and conducting process validations and equipment qualifications.
• Systems and process thinker who understands the importance of continuous improvement and how it fits within the Quality Management System and Risk Management.
• Problem identification and resolution – Quality by design approach, recognizing issues, investigating, data collection, analysis and proposing solutions
• Demonstrated ability in project management and project management tools.
• Experience in process and/or product development

Other

• This position recommends vaccination for Hepatitis A and B due to contact with human plasma sources
