Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a results-oriented, proven Procurement & Supply Chain Analyst to join ourEtobicoke team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for increasing our competitive advantage by procuring components from our extensive North American supply chain, assisting with demand planning, improving inventory management, and supporting our Asian supply chain.


We are looking for someone who will forecast component needs and ensure that the orders are in place for the anticipated demand. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to support the daily production scheduling meetings and picking process by managing the receipt of components and preparing support documents used during the daily reviews. Your analytical skills will also be used in investigating the “root cause” of any cycle count inventory adjustments.With your experience you will strive to lower input costs and add value by actioning continuous improvements.

Some of the exciting thing you will be responsible for:

  • Identify strategic and tactical issues related to supply chain forecasting, procurement, operations scheduling and sales forecasting.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve component availability in a timely manner, inventory levels and cost savings.
  • Triage demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Prepare and execute purchase orders required for North American components and capital investment projects.
  • Conduct daily forecast updates of component availability, both purchased and fabricated.
  • Perform analysis and discussions with the Operations Team and Leadership to identify root causes for inventory discrepancies. You will be an important part of finding solutions!


Key Accountabilities in this role include:

This position requires strong organization, negotiating, purchasing, planning and inventory management skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively within a manufacturing environment.

  • Demand Planning – Daily preparation of critical supply chain reports with recommendations for action including negative inventory adjustment reports, component availability reports and open quote reports. Update the daily production forecast model by processing new orders, identify “at risk” projects, analyze missing components, coordinate machine and labour capacities and schedule customer projects to be built. Prepare pick lists based on scheduling meetings and provide them to the Operations Team for picking. Update forecasts from OEMs in the ERP system and the daily demand planning schedule. Make changes as required to customer work orders, shipping timelines and recommend adjustments to component costing.

  • Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory – Negotiate with existing and new suppliers. Create Purchase Orders as required for all components sourced. Prepare weekly reports on required purchases, trends in lead time and safety stock levels.Manage planning, forecasting, and issuing purchase orders for assigned suppliers. Provide updates to the daily production planning meetings.

  • Inventory Management – Prepare root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and update the Leadership Team.

  • Planning and Support – Support reporting and purchase order creation for the Asian Supply Chain. Prepare and manage annual Blanket Purchase Orders for all critical components with the goal of minimizing stock-outs and achieving the lowest possible shipping rate from suppliers.

What you will bring:

  • Expertise in Visual or similar ERP environment preferred; experience with an ERP system is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Diploma, Degree or Certification in Supply Chain Management, procurement or inventory management considered a strong asset. Examples include completion of the P.M.A.C. Purchasing Certificate program or enrolment in the SCMP Accreditation Program.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement / supplier management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inventory management is preferred.
  • Capability to multitask and “pinch” hit in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • The ability to write and converse in Mandarin, Japanese or French considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications –Excel skills are highly valued.
