Procurement Coordinator
Established in Canada in 1979 our client’s founders and associates had a vision and passion for precision design and mastery in fabrication and manufacturing.
In over 40 years of development our client has specialized in process driven equipment for the continuous roll forming of metallic strip, and the application of metallic and non-metallic tapes, to produce flexible conduit and pipes over electrical cables, hoses, and as components of deep-sea umbilical’s.
A leader in developing and applying cutting edge technology and design advancements, both mechanically and electrically, our client strives to manufacture robust, maximum performance equipment which meets and exceeds the needs of the customer.
They are seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join our growing team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Procurement Coordinator is responsible for researching and sourcing products and suppliers, building relationships to ensure products and services are obtained at the lowest cost possible without compromising on quality, service, and delivery. The Procurement Coordinator is also responsible for negotiating prices with suppliers to remain within budgets and project schedules.
Job Duties:
- Backup Purchasing Coordinator as required.
- Monitor price increases and communicate changes, as necessary.
- Analyzes and evaluates supplier’s proposals, or quotations; negotiates prices and delivery conditions; and awards orders (within established limits of authority) with terms that are in the organization's best interest.
- Research and source products and suppliers, develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and work with them to achieve continuous improvements in cost and performance.
- Prepare RFQ’s (request for quotes) for raw materials, machined parts, and finished goods.
- Confer with engineering personnel when required to resolve part issues.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls as part of a shared responsibility with the operations team
- Work with suppliers on issues related to quality.
- Maintain accuracy of item information and qualified vendors in ERP system.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain best value (price, delivery, and service) to meet project requirements (budget and required dates).
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good time-management skills.
- 5+ years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with an ERP.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English-written and verbal)
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Diploma/Degree in Business and/or Supply Chain Management
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and required materials.
