About Global Functions

Human Resources is responsible for implementing HSBC’s people strategy. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.
About the role:
The Performance & Reward (P&R) Manager role plans, manages and oversees the activities and operations of the P&R Department for the ServCo in Canada. The role is accountable for the successful delivery of the P&R program in the context of a people strategy that reflects the overall business strategy. It leverages internal and external expertise to deliver commercial P&R solutions that have measurable impact for our business.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement solutions suitable for the Canada entity, that is primarily an IT function
  • Support the implementation of the Group Reward policies adapted for the local markets, ensuring that Employer of Choice, Best Place To Work and Pay for Performance intentions are met
  • Evaluate and modify all existing pension and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Lead revisions of programs to ensure continued support and fulfilment of employee needs by taking an innovative and forward-looking approach
  • Liaise with external consultants for market intelligence to develop pay ranges, funding, and market-aligned benefits
  • Build and execute a Performance & Reward (P&R) Strategy that supports the business transformation of the Canada ServCo while remaining consistent with HSBC global and regional priorities and practices
  • Manage Performance & Reward (P&R) resources and supervise external vendor relationships (e.g. insurers, administrators, consultants)
  • Implement, run, and monitor all elements of the Annual Pay Review process for Canada ServCo
Requirements
  • Experience in implementing transformation and change programs
  • Minimum 8 years of HR experience – including relevant Performance and Reward experience
  • Expertise (preferred) or familiarity of delivering effective P&R solutions in the Canadian context
  • Excellent people management, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment
