Perception Engineer Jobs

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning (A&P) is looking for Perception Engineer work on perception solutions for Mining, Agriculture, and other industries supported by the Hexagon portfolio of companies. You will work with the latest technology while solving interesting and challenging problems in multiple industries, and using multiple sensor modalities. You will be responsible for working with an experienced team to understand and solve customer’s unique perception problems.

As a Perception Engineer, you will be responsible for the following

• Performing embedded GPU optimization
• Programing in Linux environment
• Reporting project status to technical leadership as needed
• Writing C++ algorithms used to process data from any perception sensor (color or thermal cameras, lidar, radar, etc.)
• Working with task tracking tools such as JIRA. Updating tasks regularly.
• Developing embedded computer vision algorithms for autonomous mobility applications
• Providing engineering level customer support as needed to ensure world class customer experience
• Deploying algorithms on hardened production grade embedded targets
• Traveling to customer sites as needed when deploying software updates or the latest delivery, typically less than 10%

Must Have

• 2+ years experience working with computer vision algorithms
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong experience building and/or optimizing computer vision algorithms
• Experience writing software and solving challenges with advanced perception algorithms for real-world applications

Key Success Factors

• Proven track record of deploying camera, radar, or lidar perception in autonomous vehicles
• Masters degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
• Experience with the Nvidia Xavier or Orin chip sets
• Experience optimizing vision algorithms for embedded applications used in production applications
