Do you want to work in a challenging and rewarding role that allows you to create and problem solve, take initiative, and build your professional and interpersonal skills? Come join Tenomix’s R&D team to help develop a breakthrough technology that utilizes robotics, ultrasound imaging, and machine learning to locate lymph nodes in surgically removed colon cancer tissues.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, who is motivated, energetic, and passionate about their work. As part of our team, you will:

  • Build workflow-related tools that complement our core technology.
  • Build an inventory of device consumables.
  • Prepare relevant device documentation related to a quality management system.
  • Assist with prototype bench-top and clinical testing.
  • Create CAD models and translate CAD into engineering drawings.
  • Program motor drivers and improve robot performance.
  • Help translate prototypes to commercial products.

We offer a lot of opportunity for professional and personal growth. You will work in an engaging, supportive, and inclusive environment as part of a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in pathology, medicine, and engineering. Our senior management team has an open-door policy, and we encourage employees to share their ideas on how to elevate Tenomix to the next level.

At Tenomix, we are at the forefront of pathology innovation and work to equip pathology staff with the right tools that help provide the best patient care. Join us and help build towards the next gold standard for the lymph node search process that will ultimately benefit hospitals, pathology labs, and cancer patients worldwide.

  • Design robotic end effectors and tools related to tissue preparation workflow that complement Tenomix’s core technology.
  • Conduct critical bench-top and clinical experiments with the prototype.
  • Create renderings in SolidWorks for use in marketing materials.
  • Participate in and document end-user prototype feedback sessions.
  • Translate original CAD of the prototype into engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Prepare relevant device documentation related to a quality management system.
  • Carry out refinements and build duplicates of the existing prototype robot, which involve CAD/CAM, supplier management, additive and subtractive manufacturing, electronics hardware soldering, electronic circuit design, stepper motor and pathfinding programming, and device validation.
  • Build an inventory of the above-mentioned device consumables, which requires 3D printing and assembly work.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with additive manufacturing and technical/engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as work efficiently as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when completing tasks.

  • Experience programming in C.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Strong organizational skills to succeed in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
  • Ability to comprehend biomedical/health sciences-related topics.
  • Prior experience in a regulated industry.
  • Strong interest in biomedical engineering and a desire to learn about the med-tech industry, where prior experience of working with clinicians is an asset.
