Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ceramic Engineer/Scientist to join our team. As a Ceramic Engineer/Scientist, you will play a critical role in developing and improving high purity alumina and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forming and sintering ceramic bodies, calcination of ceramic powders, and various milling methods for ceramic powders. Previous experience working with alumina powder will be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in alumina manufacturing processes, proposing and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Utilize advanced characterization techniques to assess the physical and chemical properties of alumina powder.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the maintenance team, engineers, and production personnel, to drive product development and process optimization.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the field of high-purity alumina.
  • Design and implement experiments to improve alumina forming techniques such as pressing, sintering processes, and powder calcination methods along with spray drying methods.
  • Develop and evaluate new milling methods for alumina powder, considering factors such as particle size distribution, morphology, surface area, and density of the powder.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to identify trends, correlations, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Conduct research and development activities to optimize high-purity alumina and processes.

Qualifications:

  • The detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.
  • Experience working with alumina powder is highly desired.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of characterization methods like BET, laser particle size analyzer, SEM and XRD and ability to analyze the test reports.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical, hands-on experience in forming and sintering ceramic bodies, calcination of ceramic powders, and various milling methods for ceramic powders.
  • Bachelor's, Master's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ceramic material properties, processing techniques, and characterization methods.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages, a collaborative work environment, and opportunities for professional growth. If you are a motivated and experienced Ceramic Engineer/Scientist with a hands-on approach looking to make a significant impact in the field, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume, cover letter, and any relevant publications or portfolio samples demonstrating your experience in ceramic engineering.
