The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures. The Food Production Assistant works to prepare food production for service within the department following all par stocks, while maintaining a hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking and cleaning of area tools when necessary
Duties And Responsibilities

• Stocks product, sweeps area, empties garbage, and washes location dishes when required.
• Ensures proper labels are utilized for items;
• Washes, cuts, and properly stores food items as per directions and/or par stocks while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area;

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure;
• Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;
• Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;
• Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;

Anticipated Schedule
This position is scheduled up to 24 hours a week for P18557 and is an eight (8) month per year positions with an annual seasonal layoff up to four (4) months. This job requires regular onsite work.
Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and Friday's 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
