Brokk Inc. is an international Swedish-based organization primarily focused on manufacturing specialized heavy-duty machines for demolition purposes. Over 4 decades have passed since its establishment in 1976, during that time Brokk has grown to be one of the world’s most renowned manufacturers of demolition machines. Brokk machines have dramatically improved the working conditions for thousands of people around the world and have provided critical service when it was needed most. Brokk machines were used to clear Ground Zero after 9/11, they assisted in containing the nuclear disaster at Fukushima, and they are regularly used in a variety of functions at thousands of job sites across the globe. In 2019, Brokk formed its Canadian entity, Brokk Sales Canada, to meet the growing demand for state-of-the-art demolition machines in Canadian industries.
We are seeking a resourceful, independent, and versatile individual for this newly created Parts and Warehouse Manager role. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving of machines and parts at our Burlington location. The incumbent of this role will have their hand in all aspects of the business and add direct value to the team through their accountability, work ethic and a team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate for this newly created role is an individual who consistently adds value through their ability to make sound decisions, exceptional organizational skills, and unwavering motivation to achieve objectives that propel the business forward.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage Warehouse Operations:
· Oversee and manage all aspects of receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
· Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and industry best practices.
· Streamline processes to optimize efficiency and productivity.
· Monitor and improve warehouse layout and space utilization.
2. Inventory Management:
· Implement effective inventory control procedures, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and reconciliations.
· Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels meet operational requirements.
· Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock levels.
· Identify and implement strategies to minimize inventory discrepancies and stockouts.
3. Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination:
· Work closely with the President and Regional Sales Managers to coordinate timely delivery of parts and equipment.
· Collaborate with suppliers, clients, and transport companies to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
· Negotiate favorable freight rates and terms with carriers.
· Monitor and track shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and addressing any logistics issues.
4. Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
· Maintain a thorough understanding of the condition and maintenance needs of Brokk machines.
· Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs and servicing.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
· Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective measures as necessary.
5. Facility Management:
· Manage the overall upkeep, cleanliness, and organization of the warehouse facility.
· Identify and address facility maintenance and repair needs promptly.
· Coordinate with external service providers for facility maintenance and repairs.
· Optimize storage space and warehouse layout to improve operational efficiency.
6. New Warehouse Setup:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements and plan the setup of a new warehouse facility.
· Participate in the selection and procurement of equipment, shelving, and other necessary resources.
· Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of construction, installation, and setup.
· Develop and implement processes and workflows for the new warehouse, considering efficiency and safety.
Skills & Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
· Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment/machine operation is required.
· Experience operating heavy equipment is considered an asset.
· Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures, including receiving, inventory control, and distribution.
· Proficient in inventory management practices and software systems.
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
· Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift effectively and safely (or willing to obtain).
· Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory tracking and warehouse management.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to speak French would be considered an asset.
· Ability to respond efficiently and professionally to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Proactive and independent work style, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
· Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to implement innovative ideas.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
