Job Description
A leader in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry, and celebrating its 70th anniversary in March 2022, The Master Group has been named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies since 2010 and is the largest privately held HVAC-R distributor in Canada. Today, the company employs 1,300 dynamic and dedicated people who serve the industry in more than 55 branches and 4 distribution centers from British Columbia to the Atlantic Provinces and in 19 branches in the United States.
The incumbent will promote all Master Group products to dealers, contractors, and owners with equipment choices. They will be responsible for managing existing clients and developing new business as well as identifying and qualifying refrigeration opportunities.
Principal Tasks
Marketing & promotion of products:
  • Develop a close relationship with commercial/applied contractors and promote The Master Groups ability to quote on public tenders as well as on design build projects.
  • Ensure effective regional relationships with suppliers.
  • Identify competitive positioning of our products versus the competition.
  • Marketing tools, catalogs, sales manuals: coordination between product manager & sales department
  • After sales service: coordination between service manager & technical support from manufacturers
  • Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments
  • Selling price: coordination between purchasing/product management & sales department
After Sales Service
  • Contact customers after the sale to resolve problems and ensure follow up
  • Set up and facilitate training seminars for our dealer and contractor base
  • Have the ability to resolve technical problems related to products
Promotion of Master refrigeration focused products to clients (contractors, engineering firms and owners):
  • Acquire required technical knowledge in order to promote products (academic or manufacturer training)
  • Presentation of technical drawings
  • Presentation of product applications for use in refrigeration systems (formal presentation with catalogs or audio/video material)
  • Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers
  • Preparation of buying & pre-purchase documents
  • Preparation of annual sales budgets for territory & proposals for client accounts
  • Maintain sales forecasting reports.
Management Of Client Accounts
  • Responsible for the use of the CRM in client account management
  • Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments.
  • Participate in regional trade associations and develop networking opportunities.
  • Development & solicitation of existing and potential clients.
  • Evaluation of client’s needs & resources and recommendation of appropriate products & services
Requirements
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong technical and Refrigeration products sales knowledge
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Refrigeration trade school training (asset)
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Technical experience in refrigeration
  • Sales experience in HVAC-R distribution company
  • More than 5 years of experience
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
