The Opportunity:

Our client in the animal welfare sector is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join their team as an Operations Manager in Stouffville, ON. This role is on-site and responsible for overall operations for the Centre, communications with the provincial officer, strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, volunteer management and other duties and responsibilities as required. This is a full-time, permanent role and reports to the Provincial Operations Manager.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Oversee the centre volunteer program including recognition of volunteers, training, supervisor and support
• Oversee all administrative duties to support overall operations
• Lead, coach and mentor staff and promote support for the health and behavioural needs of all animals while also ensuring all animal care, infectious disease and facility cleaning protocols/policies are being adhered to
• Lead special projects as required for the centre
• Monitor the annual operational budget for the Centre, including operating expenses, revenue and capital expenditures
• Manage all people operations including onboarding, scheduling, and training. Work in collaboration with the team to ensure that the goals and objectives of the centre are being met
• Ensure that a positive working environment is maintained at all times
• Other duties and responsibilities as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Valid G drivers license
• Excellent communication skills
• Open availability including weekdays, weekends and holidays as required
• Passionate about people operations, coaching, training and mentoring
• 2+ years of customer service experience in a dynamic environment
• 2+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience

Complimentary Experience:

• Previous experience working in animal care or the animal welfare space would be considered an asset
• Previous experience managing volunteers would be considered a strong asset
