We at Drax are looking for an Operations Finance Manager for our dynamic Finance team in Vancouver.
About The Role
In this role, you will have the responsibility for providing accounting knowledge and insight across technical, consolidation and project based workstreams within North America. You would be partnering with the Operations leadership team, and help challenge and deliver the objectives of the operations team, whilst ensuring the financial robustness of reporting and analysis of actual performance.
The role will report to the Operations Controller and have a hybrid work arrangement of working 2 days from office.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide finance team with leadership and expertise in areas of technical complexity
• Ownership of completion of month-end close procedures for operating entities
• Manage the delivery of robust and timely internal financial reporting
• Drive process improvements, ensuring a strong financial control environment is in place
• Remaining technically up to date and considering the impact of new or revised accounting pronouncements
• Actively contribute suggestions to ensure the successful delivery of Business Plan objectives
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures and monitor processes
• Ownership of completion of month end analysis and account reconciliations
• Partner with the Operations leadership team to provide analysis of actual performance

About You

• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a managerial role and knowledge of inventory and cost accounting is a mandatory
• Highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic, a self-starter that can energise others
• Experience of implementation and improvement of Finance systems and processes
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills; able to build and interrogate complex financial models and reports
• Bachelors or Masters in business or equivalent is a pre requisite and Qualified Accounting designation is a good to have
• Ability to meet demanding deadlines, work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing business needs
• Experience in a manufacturing set up, having led a team of operational / manufacturing accountants is a must
• Excellent networking and communication skills – the drive to get out into the wider business and engage with non-Finance personnel

Location will be a hybrid approach, with expectation to work out of the Vancouver office minimum 2 days a week.
The role may require minimal travel and hence the candidate should be flexible to travel.
