Job Description
One of our clients in Concord, ON is looking for a Millwright.
Shifts: 3 shift rotation with occasional weekends and overtime as required
Job Expectations
  • All WTC quality, safety, production and environmental rules, standards and regulations must be followed while performing the job duties.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Be an active participant in meetings with production crews and operating personnel to resolve problems using WTC problem solving techniques and Kaizen principles.
  • Inspect parts to specification utilizing rules, calipers, micrometers, or other appropriate tools.
  • Be committed to WTC continuous improvement plans.
  • Provide on-the-job training when required.
  • Must be able to read and write maintenance reports, maintenance log entries, manuals, procedures and related instructions.
  • Understand or be able to specifically learn tube mill operations, setup procedures and tooling repairs and maintenance.
  • Be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Replace defective parts of machine; adjust clearances and alignment to specifications.
  • Must practice and enforce safe lockout procedures.
  • Have full working knowledge of tools of the trade used to maintain and repair equipment and machinery.
  • Have a working knowledge of machine shop practical, such as lathe, surface grinder, drill press and milling machine sufficient to perform maintenance repairs.
  • Practice and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts.
  • Perform other tasks as the need arises and/or as the job changes as assigned by the Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
  • Experienced in grinding and torch cutting steel and other materials.
  • Troubleshoot, erect, dismantle, install, repair and maintain facility machinery.
Qualification Requirements
  • The applicant must meet the following qualifications:
  • Take and pass a hearing Qtest. (Hearing Aid acceptable) Administered by company doctor (as part of WT annual test).
  • Must have high level gearbox knowledge.
  • Must pass mechanical knowledge testing.
  • Have a good attendance record over past 12 months.
  • Must have high level of hydraulic knowledge.
  • Provide details of successful completion of an apprenticeship program.
  • Must have a valid Ontario drivers' license.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be in the possession of a valid Ontario Industrial Millwright Mechanic License.
  • Successfully pass a General Qualifications/Abilities Test.
  • Must be able to read and write maintenance reports, maintenance log entries, manuals, procedures and related instructions.
