Metro Compactor Service was established in 1978 and is Canada’s leading expert in Waste and Recycling Equipment solutions. We are a multi-skilled company located Brampton, ON and Port Coquitlam, BC. In our custom welding shop, our team is responsible for welding and fitting custom equipment, as well as refurbishing old models.

We are looking for a full time Welder/Fitter to join our Brampton’s in-shop production team. Qualified candidates will be invited to perform a weld test.

Job Duties

• Using (MIG) welding and torch cutting to manufacture and repair waste and recycling equipment
• Read and use measuring tape
• Ability to work independently and work well in a team
• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications
• Use a variety of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and build off shop drawings
• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Experience MIG welding and Torch Cutting

MATERIAL

Black Steel (Mild Carbon) 10,12,14 gauge sheet also 3/16",1/4", 3/8" Plate Mild Steel. We also weld occasional round bar and pipe, same thickness. The beads range from 1 inch stitches to a full bead sometimes several feet long.

Job Requirements

• Ability to read measuring tape
• Hand/Power Tool experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent Blueprint Reading
• Fitting experience
• Forklift experience – an asset, not required
• Torch Cutting – an asset, not required
• MIG Welding Experience
