The Merchandise Planner, Wholesale is responsible for pre-season and in-season supply and demand plan, open-to-buy planning and analysis, inventory management, and performance reporting for defined classifications. This role reports to the Senior Director, Planning & Allocations and will partner closely with Merchandising, Wholesale, Product, Finance, Digital and Brand Marketing. The Merchandise Planner will help drive the team’s success by providing insight and recommendations to optimize category performance across Wholesale and achieve financial and consumer strategies.

The Opportunity

• Co-manage seasonal hind-sighting with merchandising to inform future direction
• Partner cross-functionally to drive effective in-season decisions to drive sales, margin, and optimize inventory
• Analyze current trends and historical data to identify risks and opportunities and recommend strategies to achieve category targets
• Own Inventory Management, inclusive of OTB, ladder plans, and turn in support of Knix’s product and consumer strategies
• Optimize the way tools work based on new systems or integrations and creating best practices that are scalable
• Look beyond the everyday business to find opportunities to maximize sales for wholesale
• Manage reporting and monitoring trends to proactively inform decision-making for key stakeholders
• Lead merchandise planning for retail & wholesale channels by taking a nuanced approach to each channel
• Develop sales projections, build demand plan by account and manage inventory flow for defined categories in support of Knix’s merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives

Qualifications

• A combination of experience in merchandise financial planning and demand planning
• Minimum 3 years of merchandise planning experience including experience in an OMNI-environment including wholesale is preferred
• Partnership mentality and the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders & cross-functional teams
• Previous people leadership experience including developing talent and managing performance
• Experience in analyzing sales and profitability to ensure targets are met or exceeded while also identifying opportunities for the business
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, merchandising, or related field preferred
• Applying financial & business acumen to provide actionable insights in a retail & wholesale environment
• Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with planning software is an asset
• Analytical skills to support problem solving and decision making
• Demonstrated experience managing an OTB, inventory turn, margin and SKU efficiency
