THE POSITION
Keyera is currently seeking a Mechanical Lead to join our Rimbey Complex. The role supports the day to day operations and maintenance needs of our facility.
Responsibilities
  • Assign break-in work orders to Mechanical Technicians
  • Oversee work assigned to contractors or ensures a technician has been assigned to perform oversight
  • Attend Weekly Maximo Event review meeting
  • Monitor progress of current week’s scheduled work
  • Participate in monthly work order backlog reviews with Planner, Scheduler, Operations, and stakeholders
  • Support engineering on project work including hazops, design and model reviews
  • Act as a technical resource for Mechanical trade disciplines
  • Participate in daily Service Request reviews with OMC and Scheduler to ensure identified work is required, prioritized, and details are correct
  • Ensures all maintenance work is documented utilizing the CMMS (Maximo 7.6)
  • Provide coverage for Maintenance Supervisor as required
  • Support Maintenance Planner as a technical resource for planning corrective maintenance and preventive maintenances work orders
  • Support Mechanical technicians in planning of priority 7 & 6 Break-in work for safe execution
  • Assign work orders to Mechanical Technicians from approved weekly schedule.
  • Assist Mechanical Technicians if items, materials, services and/or tools are not coordinated for work execution.
  • Maintain craft availability and ensure it is available to Scheduler one day prior to Weekly Scheduling Meeting
  • Attend the Weekly Scheduling Meeting
  • Perform routine job site visits to evaluate the work being completed by Technicians is meeting Keyera’s safety, quality, and standard requirements
  • Participate in break-in Service Request prioritization and decide which work should come off the Approved Weekly Schedule to accommodate the break-in work for Mechanical Technicians
  • Identify work orders to the Scheduler which will not be completed in the current week’s schedule, due to break-in work disruption or other factors
  • Ensure Mechanical Technicians are following applicable procedure requirements.
  • Review OE 4.03 Maintenance Work Processes KPI’s monthly and take corrective action on negative trends
Qualifications
  • Alberta Journeyman's Certificate in one of the following trades Millwright, Instrumentation and/or Electrical.
  • Shutdown/turnaround experience is an asset.
  • You actively guard against complacency and challenge the status quo.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a work team environment with a creative, with the ability to listen, learn and share knowledge.
  • Valid H2S Alive, WHIMIS, TDG, First Aid Certificate and clean driving record.
  • Previous Maximo maintenance planning/scheduling experience would be considered an asset.
  • You demonstrate diligence in following process and procedures.
  • Previous experience working with Sour gas plants and Refrigeration facilities would be considered an asset.
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with a demonstrated proactive initiative.
  • Team player who demonstrates commitment to growing and expanding team knowledge by participating in Keyera’s Cultural Behaviours.
  • You follow through on commitments as an engaged contributor.
  • You’re a highly organized, reliable individual with good attention to detail.
  • Physically able to perform all components of the position (i.e. lifting, working at heights, etc.).
  • Responsible for following and adhering Keyera Core Values.
  • You have a strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Actively support Operational Excellence and Asset Management and Reliability programs.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in facility and pipeline maintenance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' of proven leadership experience supervising field employees.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • You are able to work in seasonal weather conditions and on a shift rotation.
  • Responsible for following Wapiti Health and Safety including site safety meetings.
  • You possess proven communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
