Mechanical Designer Jobs

If you are a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our client is looking for someone to be a part of a cross functional team, with the aim of executing design, integration, or testing activities. This is a 3-year contract opportunity, and is available to candidates in the Brampton, ON area.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed components and assembly drawings to support manufacture and assembly of hardware
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis with an understanding of statistical tolerancing as required
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standard to mechanical components
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop state-of-the-art robotics
• Identify risks, proposes solutions and develops mitigation strategies for design issues and schedule concerns
• Generate design concepts using Siemens NX and Teamcenter using principles of design

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanism design and analysis activities, including tolerance analysis, component selection, and drafting
• Bachelor’s diploma or degree in Engineering is preferred, and all relevant experience will be considered
• Understanding of the CAD core tools including Siemens NX, Teamcenter, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
• Working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and experience applying the standard to mechanical parts
• Experience in the manufacturing and testing of subsystems, assemblies and components is considered an asset
• Experience in dealing with program or project groups for technical discussions is preferred
