KWS Seeds Canada is searching for an experienced and motivated Marketing Specialist in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Commercialization Manager, the person in this position will play an integral role in shaping and operationalizing the marketing plan and customer experience for KWS Seeds Canada. This individual will work strategically to develop the necessary capabilities, capacities, and company network to ensure efficient implementation of the marketing strategy, plans and budgets to optimize the short and long-term Canadian business plan. Essential Job Functions:

• Digital
• General marketing and media calendar management (traditional and digital)
• Website & landing pages
• Retailer co-promotion tools as identified by team and retailers
• Assist colleagues and support other duties as assigned
• Print - newspaper, direct mail, email
• Develop and manage relevant marketing materials that support the team and the customer journey to strengthen customer relationships
• Collaborate with KWS Seeds Canada and KWS Globe teams to develop, integrate, monitor and optimize the marketing plan to achieve set business and company results

• Integration of marketing activities with Sales force

• Meetings, field days, events, sponsorships and tradeshows
• Sales and marketing tools – brochures, merchandize, signs & offers
• Develop, coordinate and monitor the indirect marketing tactics including:
• Content management (video, photo, company & product information)
• Develop, coordinate and monitor the direct marketing tactics including:
• Support internal communications
• Public Relations
• Build relationships with key retailers, farmers and industry to better understand the business along with key product and service requirements to develop effective marketing campaigns
• Strategic Planning, budgeting and forecasting
• Market research and evaluation of marketing metrics
• Texts – direct messaging via retail channel
• Social media- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc
• Sponsored content and referrals
• Google ads, Blogs, Podcasts
• Manage expenses, report on budgets and work within approved guidelines
• Search engine optimization

Required qualifications:

• Proficiency with marketing software, graphic design and computing skills including Content management systems, HTML coding, Salesforce marketing cloud, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint)
• Strong teamworking skills with the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships internally (domestic & abroad) and externally (customers & vendors)
• Post-secondary education including a degree in business management in marketing or communications
• Ability to travel up to 15% of time both domestically and abroad
• Experience in an agricultural marketing agency or agriculture related marketing business is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of file assembly and preparation for print and digital channels
• 7+ years of marketing and sales experience with specific working knowledge in branding (company & product) and use of both direct and indirect marketing tools
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deliverables with minimal supervision. Results oriented with strong project management skills.
• Superior copy writing and communication skills with ability to assimilate complex information to evoke clarity, interest, and grow customer experience
