MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
North Van Arts is a grassroots, social-profit, charitable cultural organization dedicated to maximizing the intrinsic value of the arts in all media. Our mandate is to enable emerging and professional artists in all disciplines, to bridge cultures, and to build strong and healthy communities through the arts. We are a vibrant and dynamic organization with over 400 members with a proud history of serving the citizens of the North Shore and artists from throughout Metro Vancouver and beyond.
The Marketing and Social Media Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with all Programme Managers to develop, implement, track, and evaluate multiple digital and print marketing campaigns and all aspects of North Van Arts’ social media. This is a full-time employment position.
Organizational Marketing
- Review and update marketing plan/strategy and workplan annually, including print, digital and social media.
- Manage marketing and social media advertising budget.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and other suppliers/contractors as required.
- Set goals, track, and analyze web traffic metrics, and suggest solutions to boost web presence.
- Develop marketing strategies using various tools (What’s Happening posters/rack cards, organizational rack card, outreach).
- Maintain, evaluate, and renew annual media sponsorships.
- Report on marketing activities and related statistics.
- Staff liaison for the Membership Committee, leading an annual membership drive campaign.
- Oversee organizational brand and ensure compliance across programme areas.
- Develop key messages, images, and quotes, in line with the North Van Arts brand, that can be used for various marketing materials across programmes.
- Maintain and enhance content on website, highlighting brand awareness.
Digital Communications:
- Continue building and fostering trust with our digital audience and creating safer spaces online.
- Create digital marketing strategies using various tools (e-bulletin, website, social media, digital and print ads, videos) that build and maintain a strong, cohesive online and offline brand.
Social Media:
In consultation with programme managers, schedule posts and manage digital engagement on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube; maintain brand voice and tone in all communications.
Update hashtags, handles, and representations of North Van Arts brand as required.
Programme Specific Marketing
- Support the distribution of marketing materials for each programme.
- Support managers with press releases and press relations, including coordinating interviews.
- Create, in partnership with programme managers, engaging, diverse, and accessible ad campaigns, managing print, digital, and social media execution.
Community Outreach
- Work closely with North Shore Culture Compass team to leverage opportunities.
- Research and survey the community and programme participants about North Van Arts.
- Collaborate, maintain, and enhance relationships with other communities and cultural organizations.
Gallery Duties
- This role will be a key staff person on Saturdays to oversee gallery duties which include customer services such as art rental, The Shop, and gallery sales, and volunteer support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficient in Office 365 Suite with experience in Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact (or related program), Google Analytics, and Google Ads.
- Maintain respectful, clear communications, and relationship-building practices.
- Creative, resourceful, hands-on, and pro-active.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- In depth experience with and knowledge about working with social media.
- A related degree or diploma from a college/university/technology institution an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Very personable, diligent, and a good communicator.
- At least 3 years’ experience developing and managing marketing campaigns for non-profits or community organizations.
- Strong English written and spoken language skills.
- A strong ability to multi-task, evaluate, and manage priorities and deadlines with a commitment to detail and quality.
- Experience analyzing and leveraging opportunities to maximize small marketing budget.
REMUNERATION: 37.5 hours per week, $42,900 annual salary + extended health package (after 3 months)
