MARINE OPERATIONS MANAGER

MV Osprey Limited is a leading Canadian offshore fishing and seafood company operating out of North Sydney, NS. The company is seeking an experienced Marine Operations Manager to join its senior management team and oversee the operations of the vessel, Northern Osprey III.

Reporting to the company CEO the Marine Operations Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

·Coordinating all technical management of the company’s vessel; including maintenance repairs, Transport Canada Inspections, Class Inspections, general surveys, equipment certification, etc.

·Preparing budgets and projections

·Handling and attending all refits and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance with dockyards and general contractors, both domestic and foreign

·Overseeing and directing the vessel’s OH&S plan and Workers Compensation.

·Overseeing and directing the vessel’s product Quality Management Program

·Conducting all marine personnel hiring, manage crew schedules, etc.

·Overseeing all purchases for the vessel with foreign and domestic vendors

·Arranging and negotiating all work orders with contractors

·Coordinating and maintaining inventory control

·Coordinating all Canada Customs and Canada Immigration related issues

·Coordinating vessel discharge and arranging product inspections, sampling, etc.

·Coordinating vessel licensing with DFO

Preference will be given to individuals with a Marine Management background combined with the following:

·Previous experience as Marine Manager or Marine Superintendent

·Familiar with FFT’s and operations

·Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position

·Experiencing with TM Master or similar management platforms
