Curtiss-Wright are looking for two Machinists for our afternoon shift (3:pm -- 1:30am) to join our Indal team at our Mississauga position. This new role is to support our growing business in implementing an afternoon shift to support our increased workload.

The successful Machinists will be performing moderately complex assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. Your Challenge

• Manufacturing and inspecting detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, boring mills, drill presses, saw and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical calculations
• Using measuring or layout tools such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, height master, gauge blocks, angle plates, V- blocks, bore and pitch gauges, protractors, squares and dividers
• Determining how to set up and operate machines based on instructions received.
• Performing minor repairs of equipment
• Keeping work area clean and free from safety hazards
• Maintaining acceptable quality and efficiency level

Your Expertise

• Must be able to demonstrate General Machinist skills in one of the following areas:
• Must be able to understand GD&T tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work from work order routing sheets
• 5 years machine shop experience and/or have completed a recognized apprenticeship as a General Machinist.
• Milling
• Must be able to make own layouts as per drawing
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, plate clamps and slings
• Must be able to design and manufacture fixtures and template
• Ability to machine as per drawing tolerance of .0005" where required
• Must be able to set up and use machine shop power and pneumatic tools
• Experience working with CNC machines- Fanuc controls and Heidenhain controls
• Lathe
