English Second Language Instructor

triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc. is actively seeking anESL (English as a Second Language) Instructoror anELT (Enhanced Language Training) Instructor to join our team at theMississauga campus located inside Square One Mall.

PrimaryPurpose:

The primary purpose of the ESL/ELT Instructor is to plan, organize and deliver curricula to international students in an instructor led environment. The ESL/ELT Instructor will be responsible to teach and facilitate English courses and workshops tointernationalstudents.

The instructor will provide ongoing feedback to students and evaluate student performance relating to the curricula using a variety of assessments.

The role will be responsible for coordinating, mentoring, and monitoring students from TESL education programs who are completing their required TESL practicum requirements to be TESL Certified. The instructor will assist with activities to support student success and administrative functions where required.

The ESL/ELT Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness, embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides 1-1 tutoring for students.
• Assisting the Student Service Coordinator with setting up and/or speaking at campus events.
• Assisting with corporate communication.
• Keeping archives of student work and correspondence (if necessary), and maintaining and reporting student participation, evaluations/grades as possible.
• Encourage and drives participation in ESL enrollments by coordinating with students and instructors to promote the program.
• Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of the students.
• Instructs assigned courses in accordance with course competencies.
• Preparation of daily lesson plans.
• Other duties as required.
• Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, attendance policies, and provides students with a copy of the course outline to review.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
• Adult education and teaching experience is preferred.
• Fluent English communication skills (oral and written) are mandatory.
• Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) designation is preferred.
• TESL Canada Professional Certification is required.
• Knowledge of Canva considered an asset.
• 3 years of experience working in an ESL/ELT role is required.
• Degree or diploma related in English is preferred.

Hours of Work:

This position is a permanent full-time opportunity. Hours of work will be 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
