Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE), the Logistics Coordinator will report to the Material Control Manager of Manufacturing. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for verifying and preparing items for outgoing shipment.


We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Perform tools inspections.
  • Deliver material from manufacturing area to the shipping department by physically moving parts by hand, forklift and crane and securing loads when required.
  • Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
  • File freight, damage or loss claims.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Process necessary Oracle transactions in the shipping function.
  • Verify and prepare items for outgoing shipment.
  • Prepare all shipping paperwork/documents.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Ensure work area remains clean and well organized.
  • Performs stock room functions including picking parts, stock maintenance, and inventory daily cycle counts.
  • Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure that they meet specifications.
  • Coordinate with customers for delivery requests, appointments and requirements.


Core Competencies


  • Able to work effectively within your team and around other departments and their activities.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.
  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Comprehension and understanding of shop drawings.
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.


Qualifications


  • Basic level computer skills in MS Office products.
  • Must have valid forklift certification with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience.
  • Safety certifications are an asset for the position.
  • Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Shipping and Receiving environment.


Working Conditions


  • Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.
  • Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders).
  • Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.


Physical Requirements


  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.
  • Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.
  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.\
  • Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.
  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition.
