Job Description
Background & Purpose of the Job
Logistics and Sales Coordinator (Bilingual French/English) actively participates as a member of the Ice Cream Canada Supply Chain Team, and is partner to the full Canada Ice Cream Community
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
  • Manage logistics costs against budget by validating invoices from our logistics partners and processing them through purchase to pay platforms.
  • Oversee the order to cash logistics process for the ice cream customers in the direct-store-delivery.
  • Ensure service targets are met, smooth logistics operations and on-time delivery through our logistics partners.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies within the route to market network.
  • Primary point of contact for our distributors and customers
  • Support execution, reporting and analytics with respect to sales in the market(s) assigned.
  • Key contact for our warehouse operations as it relates to order fulfillment, logistics, and call center operations.
  • Key role in supporting network transformations within the route to market.
Position Responsibilities
Logistics
Operational Management
  • Promoting effective truckload utilization to drive efficiencies.
  • Ensure customer orders are meeting minimums. Monitor consistent adherence and engage Customer Development (CD) if required.
  • Foster strong relationships with each of our Ice Cream distributors and work alongside them to ensure store deliveries to our customers are on-time with no issues.
  • Work closely with the Distribution Center (DC) to ensure on-time movement of loads from DC to customers, and ensure continuous improvement and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) compliance, in collaboration with distributors/transportation providers.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and distributors/transportation providers as required to ensure order lead-times are met.
  • Support deployment from our distribution centers and sourcing unit as required.
Financial Control
  • Actively contribute distribution cost budgeting.
  • Review and validate claims for buy/back credits.
  • Validate/approve/process invoices (transport, fuel, distributor warehousing) on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Monitor accruals, or flag necessary accruals to finance.
  • Identify large variances, understand drivers, and implement actions to control in future.
  • Flag any risk/opportunities to the business.
  • Monitor distribution costs.
Continuous Improvement
  • Provide KPIs and meet regularly with call center and distribution partners to address gaps.
  • Develop loss trees to analyze KPI losses, and define action plans to fix issues in collaboration with Warehouse, Carriers, Customer team,
Reporting
  • Review SAP/SOCS exception reports and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Run SAP/SOCS reports to identify incomplete sales orders, required data maintenance, sales volume & pacing, on-time adherence, etc.
  • Monitor unconfirmed orders to ensure distributors are confirming/resolving any outstanding deliveries in the SOCS system.
Cross functional collaboration
  • Ongoing reviews with Customer Development/Call Center on upcoming promotions, critical stock issues, cut information on sales orders.
  • Links closely with CD, planning, warehousing (internal and external) to identify and close gaps for seamless order execution.
Sales
Reporting and Data Analytics
  • Consolidate Credit Management process and Promotional invoices monthly.
  • Communicate customer promotions to the distributors/sales rep every month.
  • Use all sources of available data to validate strategies, and course-correct where necessary.
  • Performs ongoing market analysis with respect to sales on an ongoing basis and summarize quarterly Buy-sell reports for rebates.
  • Identifies largest areas of opportunity for distribution and uses those insights to guide distribution points to up-level market conditions.
  • Interpret and evaluate key data pain-points compiled from Business Insights (BI) reporting, Evolution of reporting into Power BI.
  • Effectively extrapolates data from Dispute Reports to assess root causes, identify reasons why, and recommend a course of action to correct.
Sales program execution
  • Effectively extrapolate data from Sales Reports to assess root causes and opportunities.
  • Works closely with Sales Operations Manager and Key Account Managers
  • Drive Perfect Store conditions to Win vs Competition in the market.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of all Unilever and Distributor Systems for forecasting, mix management, territory, and route management. Spends time in the trade with Sales Reps
  • Create relevant incentive promotions to drive performance and engagement.
  • Ensure the implementation and execution of agreed merchandising standards.
Projects
  • Support/lead roll out of new programs, project work as assigned.
Will Need To Be Able To
  • Flexibility to work in evenings/weekends to support month-end or project cutover activities as required.
  • Analyze large sets of data (identify trends/opportunities, create ad-hoc reports, validate customer files, SAP item master & customer data review, etc.)
  • Evaluate trade-offs of time, cost, and service to satisfy both Unilever and its customers.
  • Manage multiple customers and priorities in a high volume, tight lead-time, quick response environment.
Enablers
  • Work closely with transportation carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Establish a positive and collaborative relationship with the customer.
  • Work collaboratively with Planning and Customer Development to ensure delivery of sales growth.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Experience in direct-to-store delivery operations
  • Some travel may be involved depending on where role is located.
  • Must continually raise the bar for KPIs such as on-time delivery, and targeted budget improvement goals.
  • Proven ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement to drive business benefits.
  • Fluency in French is a requirement.
  • 5 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain and Customer facing roles
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • A strong understanding of logistics processes is required to drive upwards performance of transportation related KPIs.
