Our Finance & Settlements team is currently looking for a motivated and talented individual to provide solutions & support to both the trading and operation teams.

What You Will Do

• Apply analytical and technical skills to investigate the day-to-day system and business issues, determine the root cause, and deliver viable solutions.
• Work closely with the Date & IT team to assist in deploying production and non-production environments.
• Work closely with the Data & IT team to establish, upgrade and maintain automated data retrieval tools and processes.
• Work closely with the trading team to verify and update different charge components related to different types of transactions and deals.
• Retrieve settlement data and perform analysis & investigations for potential discrepancies.
• Work closely with different teams within the organization to define internal reporting requirements, structure, and procedures.
• Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations to verify settlement and invoicing accuracy.
• Operate and maintain internal applications and tools to ensure the accuracy and punctuality of various internal & external reports.
• Performing ad hoc data analysis, interpreting, and communicating business insights.

What You Will Bring

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving and team-building skills.
• Strong written & oral communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with Excel (including pivots, lookups, etc.).
• Adaptable, and able to learn new skills/technologies.
• University or college education in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
• Good experience working with database and IT application support.
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL statements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Application development experience with Excel VBA in the financial industry is a plus.
• Strong database development skills.
• Understanding and experience with the North American power market.
