About The Role

As a Junior Game Designer, you will assist other members of the design team in creating new content, refining existing systems and game modes, playtesting and collaborating to assist the design team in making Skyweaver the best game possible. You will have varied tasks allowing you to assist the design team in a myriad of ways while learning and honing new skills.

What You Bring

This is an entry-level position, no professional experience is required. However, extensive experience with games and understanding of design theory are essential.

• Basic proficiency with document and spreadsheet software
• A willingness to learn, and as a junior member of the team, the ability to take direction
• A positive attitude and passion for the job
• The ability to form your own opinions and communicate those efficiently to others
• Critical-thinking skills, the ability to understand long-term objectives and priorities
• The ability to understand different types of player archetypes and motivations

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain data and documents for team use
• Work with playtesters sourced from the Skyweaver community
• Collaborate with the rest of the Game Design Team using your own unique experience and perspective to improve the game
• Regularly attend meetings to understand the design team’s strategy and philosophy
• Produce and maintain Game Design Documents and other materials
• Be receptive to mentorship from senior members of the game design team
• Observe other games in the market and advise how Skyweaver can best compare
• Create cards, playtest, and deliver feedback on the potential complexities and interaction with the metagame
