Our Calgary office is looking for aJunior Designerwho will be an integral part of the design team, responsible for providing support in relation to way-finding and signage related projects.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Junior Designer who will:
- Development messaging for destinations
- Collaborate with teams across offices (Calgary, NYC, Toronto, Vancouver) to understand project needs, timing, expectations and constraints
- Embrace a design focus and encourage a vibrant and enthusiastic design office;
- Provide necessary support to senior staff and project managers; by building presentations, typesetting, layout of drawings
- Copyrighting and storytelling, narratives
- Explore the use of materials and fabrication of signage suite of products
- Participate in design workshops and present design solutions with internal team;
- Spreadsheets population and some formatting
- Knowledge of Entro protocols and procedures are followed on all projects (templates, timesheets, meetings, etc)
- Design, development, detailing and implementation of signage, environmental graphics, identity, branding and print projects on an as required basis
- Follow direction and ensure compliance with defined goals and Entro standards for projects
- Technical detailing of plans for development of sign family
- Review of Architectural plans, pdf backgrounds and planning
- Work with the senior design team in creating conceptual renderings, artwork and graphic materials and design intent specifications;
- Apply design strategies, related documents and presentations that support project directives;
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in experiential graphic design, architecture, or industrial design firm setting
- Initiative and desire to learn
- Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years professional experience; a portfolio that demonstrates experience with various aspects of signage design work is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of signage and wayfinding production techniques is an asset
- Minimum college diploma in graphic design or a similar field
- Construction phases would be an asset
- Computer literacy and good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office
