We are looking to add an Industrial / Product Designer to our team. Reporting to the Design Manager, the individual will develop and create proposal drawings using AutoCAD 2D drafting and 3D product models and 3D rendering, producing project and marketing imagery.

This role will support our sales team throughout North America and the innovation team using Revit and AutoCAD when required. Our head office and manufacturing facility are in Calgary, Alberta.

Core Responsibilities

·Provide clients with innovative solutions to meet their design goals.

·Review and interpret specifications adapting our modular systems to the requirements.

·Design client projects using Revit and AutoCAD™ to translate 2D plans into 3D models and renderings.

·Work with the sales team, project managers, Engineers, Architects, and designers.

·Review all product information and drawings for accuracy.

·Maintain Revit and AutoCAD™ block library, continually develop 2D and 3D models, and support marketing literature and occasional website development.

·Assist the Innovation pillar with projects moving into manufacturing, if required.

·Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to visualize designs.

·Conduct feasibility studies and prototyping to validate design concepts.

·Conduct research to identify user needs, market trends, and new technologies.

·Assist with the structural design, test new development projects, and sustain products to execute promptly, on margin and high quality.

·Produce product documentation, including artwork, renderings, parts, assemblies, drawings, specifications, prototypes, etc.

·Participate in the maintenance, updating, and creation of new standards and procedures for drafting services under the direction of the Innovation Pillar to support the generation of drawings and the efficient management of asset information.

·There will be other reasonable activities required by management.

Education & Experience

·Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, architecture, or a related field.

·Experience designing commercial spaces is an asset.

·Able to read construction documents and specifications.

·Hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D software.

·Knowledge of contract architectural space planning and millwork is an asset.

·3+ years of Industrial Design Product Development experience or related field.

·Graphic design experience is considered an asset.

·Modelling and prototyping skills are required.

·Experience in user-centred design and usability validation is an asset.

·Working in a team environment

·Collaboration with other company departments on large projects will be typical.

·Individual projects must also be expected.
