Junior Cloud Software Engineer

Our major telecom client, Bell Canada, is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Engineer to work on large scale IT projects. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years experience in this field.

Responsibilities

• Develop batch and streaming pipelines for generating scores from ML models on the cloud

• Deploy ML models on the cloud

• Adhere to standards and best practices for developing and deploying ML pipelines on the cloud

• Contribute to pipeline and architecture standardization initiatives

• Participate in development of ML Applications on the Cloud

• Review code provided by data scientists and refactor it for production systems

• Collaborate with data scientists during model development, testing, deployment

• Participate where needed in the ML lifecycle

• Participate in ad-hoc tasks as needed by the ML Engineering or Operations teams

• Effectively document all the work performed

• Balance multiple initiatives and deliver rapidly with satisfactory quality

Qualifications

•2+ years of proven experience building production-grade systems on the cloud (Google Cloud Platform preferred)

•3+ years of proven experience building pipelines and applications using Python

•Strong SQL skills (experience with Google Cloud BigQuery strongly preferred)

•Thorough understanding of the ML lifecycle, SDLC and software development best practices

•Experience developing and/or deploying models in various frameworks (scikit-learn, xgboost, tensorflow, pytorch etc.)

•Strong programming skills with emphasis on Object oriented programming, modular programming, code organization and software engineering best practices

•1+ years of proven experience with Docker and containerized applications

•Familiarity with git for version control

•Experience with Apache Airflow/Google Cloud Composer

•Experience with Apache Beam/Google Cloud Dataflow

•Familiarity with NLP models a strong plus

•Familiarity with LLMs a strong plus

•Experience with Java a strong plus

•Strong teamwork skills

•Ability to ramp up fast and deliver quick results

•Good listening and communication skills
